Dr. Michelle R. Callahan is the savvy, “tell it like it is” psychologist and author you’ve seen hosting the syndicated talk show Wedlock or Deadlock and as a guest on popular shows like Oprah, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, Tyra and the Today Show. She is the author of Ms. Typed: Stop Sabotaging Your Relationships and Find Dating Success (Three Rivers Press, 2010) and the “Sex and Relationships” advice columnist for Women’s Health Magazine.
Dr. Michelle is a national media favorite. She hosted the syndicated daytime talk show Wedlock or Deadlock. You’ve also seen her on shows like Oprah,Dr. Oz, Today and Tyra where she provides straight talk on everything from relationships to life makeovers. Dr. Michelle was the Co-host and Life Coach for the hit ultimate mean girl makeover reality series Queen Bees on TeenNick, the network totally for and about teens. Dr. Michelle was also the Co-Host and Life Coach for BET’s inside-outside makeover show REMIXED!

Dr. Michelle’s first book, MS. TYPED: Stop Sabotaging Your Relationships and Find Dating Success, was released in February 2010 from Three Rivers Press. In MS. TYPED, Dr. Michelle teaches women how to be the woman and partner they’re meant to be–through a revealing “What’s Your Type” quiz, uplifting stories from other women, and a “Ms. Typed Makeover” that leads them step-by-step through the process. Dr. Michelle helps women figure out why they seem to have trouble finding appropriate men to date and empowers them to toss their counterproductive dating behaviors out the window. Dr. Michelle’s smart advice is sure to give women a fresh outlook on dating and guide them toward loving, fulfilling relationships. Dr. Michelle is a contributor and the “Sex and Relationships” columnist for Women’s Health magazine. She has also been featured or quoted in national or international magazines and newspapers like The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, Essence, Glamour, Men’s Health Best Life and Ebony.
Dr. Michelle is a Psychologist and expert in many areas including: family and romantic relationships, mental health, stress and coping, women’s health and career development. She has conducted extensive research on the effects of violence in relationships on the mental health and coping skills of children, adolescents and adults. She has also researched the risk factors for teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and AIDS. Her original research has been published in journals such as the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Adolescent Research, The Journal of Adolescence, Violence Against Women and The Leadership Journal. She has presented her research at the national conferences of many professional associations including the American Psychological Association, The Society for Research in Child Development, The Society for Research in Adolescence and the National Council on Family Relations. As an instructor at the University of Michigan, Dr. Michelle taught Introductory and Developmental Psychology courses.
