Red, black and gold ruffian nails.
OK, let’s be real for a second: When have you seen a Christmas-themed manicure that you ACTUALLY wanted to recreate on your own? Probaabbbllyy close to never. And you know what? It’s not your fault! Red and green just don’t mix well with everyone’s wardrobe, and we’re tired of the same ol’ presents with bows or kooky reindeer or Santa’s ginormo face (no diss to Father Christmas) on our fingertips. We want something new—and not sososo over-the-top obvious and cheesy. Alas, there are solutions out there! We stumbled upon some great holiday nail art
that we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on ASAP. Just peep those hot tips above! A super shiny red and black ruffian manicure with gold rhinestones
is the perfect way to look totally fierce at a holiday party without screaming, “IT’S CHRISTMAS TIIMMEEE, Y’ALL.”
A pale pink Christmas scene.
We love this pale pink and coral take on a wintery Christmas scene that’s soft, girly, and SO not tacky. Jane from Nailside
used tape to help her get that oh-so-perfect shape of the Christmas tree, and if you’ve done a lightning bolt shape before, it’s not much different than that! She added a coat of silver glitter for the ornaments and larger rhinestone for the top of the tree. For the rest of the nails, she did a layered cloud design for the snow and used a dotting tool for the falling snowflakes.
Chocolate pudding nails with a dollop of whipped cream.
Uh, I don’t know about you guys, but for us the best part about the holiday season is the FOOD. That’s why we’re obsessed with these chocolate pudding nails with whipped cream
on top! Nom nom nommm. The delicious melty drips are accented with a touch of holly on each hand for a not-so-over-the-top ode to the holidays. Yum!
Christmas sweater nails.
There’s an 80% chance you’re going to be invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party this year, so why not school everyone else’s outfit by wearing nails that match? Yeah, THAT’LL SHOW ‘EM. The weird part is, we kinda don’t even think these nails are that ugly. They’re vintage-y and cool and we want ’em BAD. Luckily, the lady behind So Long, Kitty
made a video tutorial on EXACTLY how to recreate these suckers
so *dusts hands off* our job is done here.
Gingerbread cookie nails.
Oh, you thought we were kidding about that food comment earlier? Ahahaha, well, WE WEREN’T. We are serious foodies with a serious sweet tooth, and it looks like this nail artist got a little hungry too. This gingerbread man mani
is a bit advanced, but if you have the skills (or can pay someone to do it) we’d HIGHLY recommend recreating this on your tips. The thumb starts out with a full cookie, and he is slowly eaten until mostly crumbs are left on the pinkie! We like the not-obvious Christmas color palette used here, and how it adequately reflects our uncontrollable attainment for sweets. Two for one deal, am I right?
