Christina Applegate has curated an exclusive sale for luxury brand website gilt.com. The collection is to support Breast Cancer Awareness month and Christina’s own charity, Right Action for Women.
As a breast cancer survivor the actress is keen to help raise awareness for the illness.
“For the sale, I selected items that I thought really celebrated women and their femininity and their power,” Christina told Gilt. “I just thought this was a perfect partnership for my foundation.” The sale features clothes and accessories from Valentino, Badgley Mischka, Lauren Merkin, Reem Acra, and Ella Moss as well as an exclusive necklace designed by Alex Woo.
The sale started at noon on Wednesday and is continuing until midnight Thursday October 13. “It’s [for] women who shop and it’s [for] women who are predominantly affected by this disease,” the Samantha Who actress said. “Being a mom and being on a set all day and only wanting to stay in sweatpants on the weekends, Gilt.com is just the best way to find what you need, it’s quick and it’s easy and user friendly, it’s just so convenient.”
Last year the blonde beauty created a jewelry line for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year she was keen to branch out in to clothes. Christina admitted that she her style tip is to dress to flatter your own shape and not to rely too much on trends. “My defining element is finding shapes that fit well, and I think I’ve finally found shapes that really work with my body,” she explained. “I don’t stray too much into trends and I stick with what I know.”
