Founder and CEO of The Gem Project, Inc., Amanda A. Ebokoisa is the latest Iconic GIRL feature.  Continue to read more about the Amanda’s amazing organization and how she’s making a lasting impression for all that come across her path! 

Amanda A. Ebokosia is founder and CEO of The Gem Project, Inc.She has fulfilled her role as a published author, entrepreneur, scholar and orator. She gives new meaning to the phrase, “Live each day as if it were your last.” Ebokosia has authored and published many works since age 14. Her first publication was with a poem entitled, “New Chapter”, in the anthology, “Journeys”, by Editors Sharon Derdian & Micheal Perala, and published by Iliad Press. These achievements were shortly followed up with her performances at the legendary Apollo Theater and the self-publication of her book, “Raindrops of Life” at age 19, which shortly followed the development of her nonprofit, The Gem Project.

As a child, Ebokosia was very inquisitive of her surroundings. Science has been the one discipline to help satisfy her curiosity. Amanda Ebokosia completed her degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology 2008 at Rutgers University, as a Psi Chi Honor Society inductee. While in college, she was able to hone her leadership and entrepreneurial skills as Founder & CEO of The Gem Project during her sophomore year at Rutgers University. The Gem Project is a nonprofit organization that educates the youth of our nation, about various issues that affect them and their communities, through the use of our innovative programs and enriching activities.

She credits the achievements of The Gem Project to her team, supporters, and her personal relationship with God. She stated on the official website of The Gem Project, “An organization is only as strong as the members who support it. You’re all the catalyst of positive change, be proud.”
Today The Gem Project currently has nine programs and nine successful divisions. Our programs include, College Campus Walks, Awareness Luncheons, Interactive Literacy Programs, Community Organizer Academy, Benefit Photo Shoots, Circulating Showcase Displays, PSA, Galas, and an ongoing Autism Awareness Quilt. The Autism Quilt Program was c/o founded by another nonprofit, The Guardian Fellowship. TGP is currently expanding and developing several different partnerships with both local and national nonprofits.
She is determined to continue with her humanitarian duties in an effort to make a positive impact on humanity. She holds membership with Psi Chi Honor Society, AFNA (American Foundation of Negro Affairs), and is The White House Project – NY GO RUN – scholarship recipient and alumna. In addition, Ebokosia was 1 of the 80 young women in New Jersey selected as a state finalist to compete in Miss New Jersey USA 2010.
